For my birthday in 2017 I chose to walk around DC and take pictures of the monuments.  We lived outside of DC for a few years and I would frequently visit the Mall.  I loved wandering the monuments and museums as a teenager.  I especially loved the monuments that honored our veterans and the service they gave to us.  My birthday happened to fall on Memorial day in 2017 and I thought there was no better way to remember those who served our country than photograph the monuments in their honor.
