Croatia, the home of (some of) my ancestors.  In the fall of 2010 I was lucky enough to visit the city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, not far from where my grandfather's family emigrated from in the early 1900s. I was on my honeymoon and for the day we ended up in this enchanted city.  It happened to be Croatia's Independence Day therefore the city was quiet and perfect for exploring.  As my husband and I wound our way through the ancient walled city I took so many pictures with multiple cameras.  I could not get enough of the ancient walls, the white stone turrets along the wall and the bright orange slate roofs.  This juxtaposed against the sparkling Adriatic Sea and bright blue skies made for a magical day.
